This year, leaders from the global mobile payment and mobile app industry came together in Kuala Lumpur to dig deep into the AI challenge. Progress over the next 10 years is expected to be shaped by five key pillars: expanding cross-border payment interoperability, such as bank-to-wallet remittance; leading payment innovation, including integrating AI via mobile tech and wearables, and exploring the development of a scan-and-tap alliance through NFC innovation; contributing to new AI payment standards through the new, open-source Agentic Mobile Protocol; supercharging super apps with AI tools; and strengthening trust and security for AI-driven and agentic transactions.
